GOLF COURSES

McDowell Mountain Club

McDowell Mountain Golf Club is considered by many as the most prestigious public golf courses in Scottsdale and with such impressive architectural features, it’s easy to see why!

As part of renovations some time ago, the course has some fantastic wide corridors and just over 7,000 yards of stunning greenery that is suited to any standard of golfer. That is to say, Randy Heckenkemper made a special effort to design McDowell MGC for both beginners and advanced players. With this in mind, there is plenty of potential for demanding shot situations but at the same time, the design means that there are also more options for beginners to plan their next move.

Built on the foothills of Scottsdale’s McDowell Mountains and adjacent to the nationally recognized Westworld equestrian center, this outstanding Scottsdale golf course now stretches to a 7,118-yards and delivers a stunning Scottsdale golf experience that will keep you coming back for more.

Raven Golf Club

Sitting on a mountain slope on the edge of the South Mountain Park and Preserve, just 20 minutes south of downtown Scottsdale is Raven Golf Club. The course at Raven Golf Club was designed by Gary Panks and David Graham. Using the natural landscape, the course encounters subtle elevation changes and rolling fairways that are framed by mature pines – not the norm for golf in the desert! Large sand and grass bunkers play their part and the numerous multi-tiered greens make putting a challenge.

With a selection of teeing options, it is playable for all and the strategic design offers a test for all levels of golfer. Mountain views feature on nearly every hole, making it a very enjoyable course to play. Although Raven Golf Club hasn’t yet seen a professional PGA TOUR event, it remains a staple of collegiate golf tournaments.

Troon North’s Monument and Pinnacle

This esteemed Tom Weiskopf design pays homage to Open Championship-style golf in the middle of the Scottsdale desert. Set in the shadows of Pinnacle Peak, Troon North weaves through giant granite boulders that often impact shot options. The track is a tough, yet aesthetically pleasing experience for any golfer.

Like its sister course, the Pinnacle at Troon North is carved into the natural desert landscape with unfathomably large boulders lining the fairways and greens. Severe elevation changes create interesting variety among holes, as well as excellent vistas. The signature par-3 16th, referred to as the “Post Card,” features a tee shot over water to a large, undulating green.

Both Troon courses ranked within the “Top 10” Best Courses You Can Play in Arizona and consistently ranked annually within the “Top 200 Best Resort Courses in The Country”.
